MENTOR

PRIYAMVADA DAS

IB examiner and moderator, course outline reader, workshop leader, and IB exchange author. Priyamvada holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics from St Stephen’s College Priyamvada has 25 years of experience in teaching. Her journey with IB started in 2005. She has held several positions- team leader mathematics, TOK coordinator, middle school coordinator,continuum coordinator and Head of Inclusion. She is also a visiting faculty in Azim Premji University.She has been a workshop leader for IB in the Asia Pacific Region since 2016 and has conducted over 20 including those in Mathematics, Concepts and Inquiry,Approaches to teaching and learning and Culture of thinking and assessments. She has authored materials for the IB Exchange is currently working as a part of a core team planning a IB math symposium at Stuttgart Germany.Even after many years of being in this profession, her love for this profession has only increased and she feels she grows with every experience.

SPEAKERS

Prof. Ashish Upadhyay

Prof. Ashish Upadhyay is currently a Professor at Banaras Hindu University. After obtaining his graduate degrees in Mathematics from University of Allahabad and PhD from IISc Bangalore, Prof. Upadhyay worked in institutions like BITS-Pilani, IIIT Allahabad and IIT Patna. He joined BHU in the year 2020. Prof.

Upadhyay’s research area is Topology and Algebra.

Dr. Priyanka

Dr. Priyanka is a mathematician, working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, NIT Jaipur and visiting faculty at IIIT Kota. She is also the founder and coordinator of the e-Learning and Data Analytics (eLDA) lab, IIIT Kota. She holds a Ph.D degree from NIT Jaipur in applied Mathematics. Her academic interests are fractional calculus,

Dr. Ashutosh Rai

Dr. Ashutosh is an assistant professor at IIT Delhi, working in the area of Theoretical Computer Science. He obtained his PhD from IMSc Chennai, and did two postdocs in Hong Kong and Prague. He likes talking about mathematics, and sciences in general, and thinks that the younger generation having a scientific temperament is very important for the future. He is also interested in good movies, literature and music, and can be found consuming one of these when he is not doing research.
